Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association The association was formed for the following purposes. (1) To promote public awareness and membership appreciation of the Alpaca's unique qualities; (2) To educate the membership on the care and breeding of the Alpaca; (3) To promote the growth of the Alpaca industry as a whole; and (4) To foster the establishment of the breed outside of its native land by encouraging husbandry and breeding practices based upon, but not limited to, herd health, overall soundness, and alpaca fiber production and products.

The Alpaca Registry The Alpaca Registry, Inc., headquartered in Lincoln, Nebraska manages the Registry database for all registered alpacas in the United States and for many other alpacas throughout the world. The Registry houses the genealogy and pedigree information about registered alpacas dating back to its inception in the 1980's. The database is used to track parentage and bloodlines of alpacas in order to increase their value and help alpaca owners make wise breeding and purchasing decisions. ARI is a closed DNA registry and currently only registers alpacas whose DNA can be verified back to ARI registered parents.

Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association MaPaca is a cooperative group of alpaca breeders in the Mid-Atlantic states of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia. MAPACA hosts the MAPACA Jubilee, which is the largest Alpaca show in the world. MAPACA is the largest and most influential regional affiliate of AOBA in the country.
